I’m a Japanese painter. My two children have developmental disabilities, and my wife suffers from depression and sleeping disorder. Our family makes mistakes and troubles almost every day, but we all live happily together.
I have developed my original painting style using acrylic resin and powdered mineral pigments. Then, I paint aquatic organisms and write fictional narratives to heal ourselves.
Through my art works, I could like to share the suffering of my wife and children with the mental and developmental disabilities, as a family member.
On the other hand, my wife works as a volunteer in running a children's cafeteria, serving as a school guard, and serving as a board member of the neighborhood association. Even though she is sometimes stressed severely, these volunteer works seem to be a form of the rehabilitation for her.
